. . . . . . . .As promised, the 1st Annual Customer "Ornament Ball" Christmas Tree was filled before Christmas Eve and posted on our web site. If you haven't seen it yet, you can go to our online store, in the CHRISTMAS section, and find YOUR ornament ball. An ornament ball was created for everyone who ordered at least 1 box of Christmas cards from us. There are 40 close-up pictures taken of the tree, starting from the top of the tree. If you ordered early in the year (February - August), check in the first few close-up pictures. If you ordered late in the year, check the final few close-up pictures. If you have trouble finding your ornament ball, please e-mail us, and we'll be happy to point you in the right direction.

HARBOUR LIGHTS - STILL IN BUSINESS?

. . . . . . . .We've been waiting for the beginning of 2012 to see if Harbour Lights will be remaining in business. Many of you have taken our advise and ordered some of your favorites over the past few months. . . JUST IN CASE! There is no word from them about any 2012 NEW Releases, but we hope to talk to them in the next few days, to get a "hint" of what may be happening with the company.

"FREE EARRINGS" OFFER HAS ENDED!!

. . . . . . . .Our "FREE EARRINGS" gift with orders over $25 has officially ended, with the final pair being given out just a few days before Christmas. Our final shipment of them was larger than we expected, so we were able to carry the giveaway to the end of the shopping season. It was a great 3-year run that we had with these earrings and we were happy to be able to make this offer to our customers. Hopefully, another opportunity will come along someday that we can pass on to you!

ODDS AND ENDS - WINTER HOURS

. . . . . . . .Our winter hours for the months of January, February and March are officially "unofficial." As you can imagine, this is a very slow time of year for retailers on Cape Cod, and also for online stores. With a "physical" store incurring large overhead costs for heat and electricity at this time of year, there is very little in-store traffic to offset these costs. After going back and forth on what to do for this season, we have decided to have very limited "official" hours, plus "unofficial" hours, when Jim is still here, working on the web site (or painting "wall of fame" buoys). The official hours will be:

MON, WED, THURS, FRI - 10:00 till NOON
STILL CLOSED TUESDAYS!
SATURDAY - 10:00 till 5:00 PM
SUNDAY - NOON till 4:00 PM

Although the weekday hours are short, we have found that most customers at this time of year, find us in the morning hours. . . . The "UNOFFICIAL" part is this . . . Most weekdays, Jim will still be here till 5:00 PM, working on the web site and store projects. If you see the silver Tundra in the parking lot, and the sign says "CLOSED," we INSIST that you knock on the door if you'd like to browse. We're always happy to let you in. Why the "CLOSED at NOON then? Being closed allows us to turn most of the lights off AND turn the heat way down, to save on overhead expenses. So what if Jim's teeth are chattering and his fingers turn numb as he tries to type on the computer!! We hate to miss you if you've stopped by, so PLEASE knock on the door if you see Jim's truck! Let's keep this warm winter weather going right through March!

Navigating between our "catalog" and "online store"

At Cape Annie's Lighthouse, we have two separate web sites. You are currently on "www.capeannieslighthouse.com," which is our original, home site. Our e-mail newsletter and BRAND NEW catalog are sub-pages on this web site. Our 2nd web site, which is our shopping, online store site, is part of the Yahoo Store network, and is at "www.capeannieslighthouses.com." In order to make your navigating as easy as possible, you will be able to click on any of the "Details. Order" links that you will see with every item in the catalog, which will take you to the corresponding pages of our online store site. Conversely, when you are on any page of our online store site, you will be able to scroll to the bottom and click on the link that says "Check out our latest newsletter and catalog". This will return you here, to these pages of our original web site.

What items will be in the catalog?

Our online Yahoo store has thousands of items for sale, far more than we will ever be able to put in these catalog pages. If you are looking for a specific item, it will always be more advantageous to search for it there, instead of our catalog pages. Although we have just begun the catalog in 2010, our ultimate goal is for it to be a compilation of our best-selling items, and new items that we choose to feature. These "new" items are ones that we hope will also become best sellers. The purpose of the catalog is to allow you to see all of these "best-selling" items at once, whereas, on our Yahoo store site, you will need to know which "category" to find each item in. So, please enjoy scrolling through our catalog, but also, know that there will be a much larger variety of items for sale at our online store site.
